NOS Vostok Komanderski Paratroops

One of the things that I enjoy about collecting Soviet/Russian watches is the often bold and iconic designs they use on the watch faces, which is very different from western watches.

This particular watch is photographed alongside the sleeve patch of the parachute forces of the USSR.

I posted about this particular acquisition on Watch U Seek.

Steve, I collect Boctok ( Vostok ) watches too. It's cool you have the corresponding patches! I have the Space Forces badges as well as the full set of shoulder board branch insignia pins. ILLUSTRATIONS: http://www.tridentmilitary.com/Soviet.Insignia.Illustrations.htm
Most fit within the width of the 18mm band if you would ever consider pinning on a 3-D metal version of the dial logo. If you haven't posted on the Poor Man's Watch Forum (PMWF) http://www.pmwf.com/cgi-bin/Forum/webbbs_config.cgi?noframes you should, I do. Many Soviet/Russian watch fans post there. Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the comment. I have a number of the patches and badges also. I started collecting a few of them for compositions in my Vostok watch photographs, and of course you can't just stop at one so I have most of them (arm patches) now.

I hadn't considered pinning a badge to a strap, but I think that would be an interesting combination, though probably a bit too flashy for my personal taste, though I might try it for a photograph in the future. Thanks for the idea.

I lurk over at PMWF quite often perhaps I will post there soon.

Best regards,

Steve
